Kittitas County Health Officials say nearly 7 in 10 current coronavirus cases involve a Central Washington University student. Those cases resulted from a recent outbreak at Wendell Hill Hall and the college increased sanitization, mandated face masks, strictly enforced social distancing, and have switched to a hybrid learning mode. Governor Jay Inslee recently tightened restrictions at all higher education institutions to help stop the COVID-19 spread on campus.
