The state Department of Fish and Wildlife is encouraging Cashmere residents to keep a lookout for a cougar roaming the area. The cougar was seen late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning at Riverside Park, Pioneer Drive and Olive Street areas. Officials recommend not keeping pet food open outside of the home and keep small animals inside. If you spot the cougar call State Police or the DFW in Olympia.
