An unattented stove results in a cooking fire that damaged a home near Moses Lake. According to Grant County Fire District 5 it happened Wednesday afternoon in the 9900 block of Maple Drive Northeast and firefighters found smoke and fire venting through the roof. The fire was contained to the kitchen but other parts of the home sustained smoke and heat damage. Investigators say the stove vent hood was covered with grease and oil which ignited when the food on the stove overheated.
