The Columbia Basin Foundation is using a donation from the estate of an Othello Dairy Farmer to create a new athletic scholarship. Wayne Bartelheimer was part owner of Bar-E Dairy in Othello and died in 2019. His will called for all assets to be divided between 3 charities with the Foundation receiving $600,000. The Foundation will launch the Wayne L. Bartelheimer Memorial Athletic Scholarship in 2021 for students in Grant and Adams Counties.
