Traffic on I-90 westbound near Ritzville was diverted for several hours on Tuesday after a truck carrying an excavator hit an overpass. Police say the driver hit the Schoessler Road overpass causing debris to fall on the highway and the driver failed to stop. Westbound I-90 traffic was detoured at the Schoessler Road exit then back on the highway until the DOT could inspect the span. All westbound lanes have since reopened.
