The Grant County Health District reports there is toxic blue-green algae present at the Potholes Reservoir. Samples were taken from the Blythe Public Access and Perch Point showed toxin levels are above recreational guidelines meaning the water is not safe and contact should be avoided, especially for pets and livestock because it can be fatal. Toxic algae remains present in Moses Lake and contact with the water there should be avoided.
