The White House Office of National Drug Policy designates Grant County as a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area. While that may sound like a bad thing it actually will benefit the county according to U.S. Attorney William D. Hyslop who says the county will get additional federal resources to combat the drug-trafficking problem. There are currently 28 High Intensity Drug Trafficking areas in the country which includes around two-thirds of the population.
