Highway 2 in East Wenatchee was closed for about three hours on Sunday after a speeding driver struck a Souglas County fire tender truck. Police say it happened near Blue Grade Road when the driver identified as Jose Cararez of Wenatchee barrelled through the area resulting in his car flipping over and landing on its roof. Cararez and a passenger were taken to Central Washington Hospital and are expected to survive. Charges are pending.
