A 22-year-old convicted felon picked the wrong time to try and steal ammunition from a Moses Lake store as an off-duty corrections officer caught him in the act. Police say it happened Sunday at a Pioneer Way sporting goods store and the suspect identified Elias Cuevas struggled with employees assaulting at least one worker. Cuevas gave a false identity while being apprehended and was carrying a gun.
