Connell Jail Records First Coronavirus Death

Coyote Ridge Corrections Center in Connell is the first state prison where an inmate died from the coronavirus. Officials say 63-year-old Victor Bueno was hospitalized on May 31 where he remained until he died last Wednesday. Bueno was jailed in 2017 after violating a protection order in Kitsap County and his release date was set for Sept. 19. As of last Thursday the prison has 91 confirmed coronavirus cases among inmates and 38 staff members tested positive.
