Mitsubishi Heavy Industries announced it’s shutting down the SpaceJet project resulting in hundreds of layoffs in Moses lake where flight test operations took place. The Seattle Times reports that the company’s U.S. headquarters in Renton will close and Mitsubishi will retain what it called a small crew in Moses Lake to store and maintain the four flight test aircraft there. Mitsubuishi first came to Moses Lake four years ago when it was developing the then-named M90 regional jet.
