Authorities Studying ML Carp Population

A toxic algae buildup in Moses Lake is being blamed on the lake’s carp populations and crews will be out this week to catch 1,500 pounds of the invasive species. Researchers will then use the catch to study the population to learn how they contribute to the algae production. Officails say there is a quarter million carp in the lake. Once the study is complete the caught carp will be taken to a landfill.
