The city of Moses Lake reminds residents that as Spring continues and yard waste is being collected that hot ashes and cigarettes should not be put in yard waste bins as they create a fire hazard for the trucks. Lakeside Disposal reported last week that a truck fire nearly started when a resident in the Dune area threw burning wood into their yard waste cart. The truck’s driver got rid of the wood before the truck caught fire.
