A State Patrol trooper reminds drivers that it’s important to wear your seat belt even if you’re parked. That reminder comes from first hand experience after the trooper was side swiped by an 18-wheeler on Interstate 90 eastbound near Ritzville. The trooper was investigating a crash and inside his patrol SUV when it happened. The semi-driver never stopped. The State Patrol says this is also a reason why drivers need to move over or slow down for emergency vehicles.
