Investigators are trying to determine what started a fire Tuesday near Mattawa that killed one person. Grant County Fire District 8 was dispatched to the 23000 block of Road O Southwest where the fire was in a garage with an individual reported to be trapped inside. The body was taken to the Grant County Coroner’s Office to determine the person’s identity and cause of death. No other injuries were reported.
