The individual killed in a Tuesday structure fire near Mattawa is identified as a 29-year-old woman. Grant County Coroner Craig Morrison says Sara Manjares Ruiz of Granger died from asphyxia due to inhalation of products of combustion. The manner of death has been classified as an accident. Investigators say Manjares Ruiz was trapped in the home’s unattached garage where the fire originated. The fire’s cause is still being investigated.
