Soap Lake students get an impromptu two-day vacation this meet because of a broken water main. Maintenance crews spotted the break Monday afternoon after seeing water flooding the school district’s softball field and shut off the entire water supply. Classes at RISE Academy are also cancelled because of the water shut-off. School officials say they expect to get repairs done in time for classes to resume Thursday or Friday at the latest.
