A Soap Lake man is fined by the state Department of Ecology for an illegal burn on his property. According to a news release David Ewing is ordered to pay $3,000 for burning prohibited materials in an unattended outdoor fire. The blaze resulted in firefighters being called to the property. Officials say it was the fourth recorded instance of an illegal burn at that property. Funds collected go to the state’s general fund or to dedicated pollution prevention accounts
