The City of Quincy is awarded a $300,000 grant for an irrigation canal project to reduce seepage losses. The federal Bureau of Reclamation grant comes from its from the WaterSMART Water and Energy Efficiency program. The Quincy-Columbia Basin Irrigation District will line 2,500 feet of the earthen West Canal with a geotextile liner covered with concrete. Total project cost is just over $833,000.
