A Grant County court decision allowing a man to withdraw his guilty plea in a 2015 Royal City murder is upheld by a state appeals court. Eduardo Ibarra Valencia’s attorneys said the sentence for the plea deal to killing Joel Rodriguez and injuring Agustin Verduzco Sanchez at Callahan Manufacturing was calculated without Ibarra Valencia knowing an offender score was used to determine his sentence. Prosecutors argued the plea withdrawal was made after sentencing so it should be denied.
