The state department of health reports nineteen flu deaths have been confirmed so far this season including two children. Flu activity is now listed as elevated with more than 1,800 reporting flu-like systems during the last week of December. Ten outbreaks of flu-like sickness are being reported at long-term care facilities in the state. Nationwide, the number of flu cases is up to 6.4 million, with at least 2,900 deaths reported.
