Lawmakers Want To Cut FT Week To 32 Hours

State lawmakers are considering a measure to reduce a full-time work week from 40 hours to 32 hours. The bill working its way through the Senate mandates that employees receive time-and-a-half pay for hours exceeding the 32-hour mark. There are some exemptions including truck and bus drivers, farmers, seasonal employees and certain contract workers. Those on salary who want time off instead of overtime pay would also be exempt.
