The new year starts off with a big change at the Grand Coulee Volunteer Fire Department with the retirement of Chief Rick Paris. The retired electrical planner for Grand Coulee Dam tells The Star he decided to step down as chief as he will be out of town more often. Paris isn’t completely leaving the department as he will still be a fireman and emergency medical technician – in his words – for years to come.
