State Assemblyman Tom Dent introduces legislation to allow earlier use of state resources when wildfires break out. Currently resources can be deployed only when a fire exceds the capacity of local fire companies. The measure co-sponsored by the Moses Lake representative would permit state resources to be summoned when a fire is firse discovered. The bill is being heard in two assembly committes where there’s been public hearings.
