A state trooper got a bit of a surprise last Friday while checking out an abandoned boat on the side of I-90 at milepost 173 west of Moses Lake. Inside the boat which was on its side were four kittens which Trooper Sage Schafer fopund after hearing them crying. Trooper Schafer dug through debris in the boat to get to the animals which were taken to a veterinarian and are said to be doing well.
