The pilot of a small experimental aircraft that crashed Wednesday near Ephrata walked away without injury. Police say they received calls from drivers along state Route 17 and state Route 282 who saw the crash and after talking to the pilot identified as Jordan Baker of Moses Lake they learned he was trying to land in a private field. The landing gear detached from the plane as it hit the ground.
