Firefighters have the upper hand on a brush fire near Waterville in Douglas County. It broke out Tuesday in the area of Highway 2 at Milepost 151 and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reports all evacuation orders and road closures have been lifted. Over 1,500 acres were consumed. No one was hurt and no buildings were lost but a piece of farm equipment was destroyed. The cause remains under investigation.
