Richland Police Warns Of New E-mail Scam

Richland police are warning about a new e-mail scam making the rounds. The department says they were notified that a person got an e-mail looking like a valid purchase receipt from Apple’s iTunes store but for an item the victim never bought. When they clicked the link to dispute the charge it took them to a page that looked like the real Apple site but was run by a hacker and that page asked for personal information including a social security number. Police say to double check any suspicious looking e-mail and never enter your personal information.
