Hanford Cleanup Needs More Funding

The Hanford Advisory Board met last week and determined the federal government needs to allocate more money for cleanup at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation. The board which is made up of citizens from the Northwest and Tri-Cities area says maintaining the current funding levels keeps the site in the board’s words “dangerous and destructive”. Hanford’s current funding is as much as $2.5 billion per year but the board says it needs to be at least 60 percent more.
