City of Ephrata leaders are considering creating a Transportation Benefit District which would raise money for street repairs and transportation projects. The city council will consider creating the district when it meets this week. If it’s approved lawmakers can implement a $20 car tab fee without voter approval or ask voters to okay a point oh two percent sales tax increase. If the council decides to take that route the measure would appear on the April 24 special election. TBDs exist in a number of other Grant County municipalities.
