Former MLSD Employee Takes Plea Deal On Theft Charges

A former Moses Lake School District employee taking a plea deal on charges he stole items from the district was sentenced to a year in prison. According to court papers Alkareem Shadeed also pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine in two other cases from last year. Shadeed had worked for the district a substitute custodian when several items turned up missing. According to district officials Shadeed was not considered an unsupervised employee and was not alone with students as part of his job.
