Evacution Orders End Near Jolly Mountain Fire

Residents near the Jolly Mountain Fire in Cle Elum are being allowed back to their homes now that the blaze is no longer in areas threatening homes. Authorities say the fire that’s consumed nearly 37,000 acres remains 40 percent contained and it’s expected that the fire won’t be put out until mid to late October. The other major wildfire is the Norse Peak blaze near Clifdel and it’s at 80 percent containment with 56,000 acres consumed.
