Inslee Announced Program To Help DACA Immigrants

Governor Jay Inslee announced a new program to assist undocument immigrants brought here while children so they can stay in the United States.

The program awards scholarships in the amount of $495 so those in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program – also known as DACA – can extend their stay in America for two years.

Inslee says that nearly 18,000 people in the state are part of the program and . no taxpayer money is used for the scholarships but will be covered by private donation.
