Controlled Burn Scheduled Near Moses Coulee Road

The Washington Department of Natural Resources announces it will be doing a controlled burn in an 85-acre field on Moses Coulee Road south of Highway 2.

According to officials the burn will happen between today and October 6th but exact burn dates will depend on weather conditions and other requirements.

The burn is being done to reduce flammable vegetation and officials say it will be carefully monitored until it is declared completely out.

DNR is alerting those near the area to be aware of large plumes of smoke during the burn and that the field has the potential to smolder for several days.
