More Rabid Bats Found Statewide Than In 2016

Washington State Department of Health officials say that so far in 2017 they have found 21 rabid bats and 12 of those were located just last month.

One of those bats was in Douglas County with most of the others in King and Spokane Counties.

DOH says last year 20 bats tested positive.

If left untreated rabies is fatal to humans so health officials say if exposure is suspected contact a health provider immediately.
