DNR Declares Statewide Burn Ban

The state Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has called a ban on all outdoor burning in the state of Washington in forests that DNR protects from wildfire.

Initially the ban was just in some DNR areas but was expanded due to multiple fires burning throughout the state and surrounding areas.

Officials say on Monday alone they were called to 21 new fire starts.

Those violating the ban are subject to fines.
