Grant County Sheriff’s Deputies To Soon Carry Narcan

The Grant County Sheriff’s office is training its deputies in the use of the anti-opioid drug Narcan.

It’s effective in treating overdoses of several drugs including heroin, morphine, fentanyl, hydrocodone and methadone.

According to the sheriff’s office in 2016, there were 17 overdose-related deaths in Grant County for a number of substances.

The kits are being paid for from a grant from the Washington Department of Social and Health Services.
