A Moses Lake woman convicted in a 2014 burglary will be resentenced after appealing to the State Supreme Court.
According to court papers Cecily McFarland was convicted on a total of 14 counts but the judge combined the sentencing to two terms to be served consecutively.
McFarland’s attorneys first sought an appeal from the state court of appeals division three but they said no so it went to the state’s highest court which ruled the judge could have given concurrent sentences had he known it was in his discretion to do so.
